Project progress

By Concert, Film, Inhouse production, Music, Tucson

A short update: as several circumstances got in the way, work on the new clip came to a standstill during the last couple of weeks. After all, today the final cut of the sequences was finished, and chances are good that the video will see the light of day at some point during this summer.

The audio track “The White Crow” is the opening song of Eric Schlappi’s upcoming album “Kurald Emerlahn”, to be released by Baby Tooth/Tucson. For everyone living in Arizona: the official album release party will take place at the Bar Passe Tucson (417 N. Forth Ave) on July 13 2017.

Greenscreen shooting

By Film, Inhouse production, Music, Tucson

Last weekend our back porch and part of the cacti garden were changed to a greenscreen setup for the next inhouse production – a musicvideo for Tucson’s electronic music maestro Eric Schlappi, starring Sarah Smith.

Again a combination of filmed footage and CGI, this video will be our most mysterious one… No title yet. More updates on this exciting project hopefully soon!

The fourth Desert Dust Cinema in Lobo/Texas had 34 international short films screened in two programs on two nights. For the first time since many years, the area of the kidneyshaped pool near the former motel was part of our illuminated festival ground.

After the screenings we had performances by Oortstorm, Jalin Malin, Gary Bear, Elegant Rabies, Eric Schlappi, Igloo Martian, Good Times Great Oldies, Ben Scheffler & XNOR and DJ Kate. Again, a big ‘thank you’ to all participating filmmakers, musicians and all our friends, neighbors and new guests – hope to meet you again next time.

Phoenix Modernism Week

By Architecture, Exhibition

Some of our acrylic prints will be part of the opening show of the Phoenix Modernism Week in April 2016. It’s a group exhibition called “MOD-AZ” and celebrates mid-century architecture and design, reflecting the Arizona Community.

The show will take place at Chartreuse located in Bragg’s Pie Factory, 1301 NW Grand Ave, part of the Lower Grand Avenue Arts & Small Business district in downtown Phoenix. MOD-AZ will open on Friday, April 1 2016, 6-10pm, through Saturday April 16th.

But there’s even more to announce: We’re also taking part in the “Modern Marketplace” on Saturday April 9th, 11am – 5pm, held at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Website says: “Meet contemporary interior designers, landscapers, furniture designers, green builders, architects, historians, preservationists and other professionals”, so this might be fun…
