Ashdecon
Screenprint series

While working on the Ashdecon video, interesting, flat-looking renderings were created more or less by chance, which hardly suggested the use of 3D software and, due to their flat aesthetics, were ideal for screen printing

At the end of 2021, six images of the Ashdecon series got finally screenprinted on high quality 300g/m2 paper. All in different quantities below 20, signed and numbered on the front. Papersize is 45 x 60cm.

A special renderpass in the Redshift rendering software was leading to the following images – for sure a special aesthetics that I like a lot as the scenes get back to a flat, analogue and almost painted feeling.

These renderings form the basis for the screen prints shown above. Semi-transparencies do not play a major role here as they do not appear in the templates either. The real difficulty was the pixelated transitions of the colours.
