Trans Europa Express Diner

This image was my very first project realized in 3D. Inspired by a photograph, every details was modeled by guessing about sizes, as plans were not available. The train still runs on the line sometimes in Switzerland.
Saasfee once produced a colored image for an exhibition of this image, but for me it’s the black and white version I prefer.
This great coffee house was once located at the Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach, just south of Los Angeles, but sadly it is demolished since long time. A perfect example of an eye-catchig roadside commercial establishment.
This Scene was also realized in 3D by guessing about sizes – the only sort of blueprint was a single photograph in the famous book “Googie – Ultramodern roadside architecture” by Alan Hess, published by Chronicle Books.
